Updating to Google Analytics 4

From July 2023 Universal Analytics will no longer track website data.

Read our blog about this for more info.

Upgrade from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 following these easy steps:

1:
Login to Analytics and navigate to your websites property.

If you see the warning message:

Universal Analytics will no longer process new data in standard properties beginning July 1, 2023. Prepare now by setting up and switching over to a Google Analytics 4 property.

Then you’ll need to click ‘Let’s Go’ and upgrade.

If you don't see that warning, you're fine and already using Google Analytics 4.

2:
On the next page click on 'Get Started'

3:
Click on 'Create and Continue' on the pop-up

4:
Here you need to link your new Google Analytics 4 Property with your website via either an existing Google Tag, or a new one.
We recommend you ‘Install A Google tag’ option and click Next

5:
You now need to copy the code in the box, it will look something like the example here:

6:
Once copied, login to your Toolkit account with us and paste it in to the Analytics box on this page:
https://www.toolkit.uk/analytics

Save the page and come out of your Toolkit account. If you've already got a code in the box, just add it after, on a new line.

7:
Go back to your Analytics account and click DONE and you’ll be ready to track your hits in Google Analytics 4 from now on.
